Development and Communications Director
Andrew Schmidt joined Mountain Aging Partners in October 2025 as Development & Communications Director. Andrew was raised in a bicoastal Navy household, graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a BA in Philosophy, and earned his MA from the Liberal & Interdisciplinary Studies graduate program at UNC-Greensboro, with coursework in Gerontology, Systems Thinking, and Ethical Leadership.
Andrew has nearly two decades' experience in the nonprofit sector, having previously served the WNC community as Advancement Analyst at Kanuga, Director of Development at Brevard College, and most recently as Program Officer at the Pardee Hospital Foundation.
When he's not raising funds & awareness in support of MAP's mission, you can find Andrew exploring his favorite forest trails in Pisgah and DuPont with his wife, Sara, and two young sons.
